Terms of Service

These terms are between you and WithSocialAI, Inc. (“we”), which operates IsThisOriginal. By using the service you agree to them. If you are using it for an organisation, you confirm you may bind that organisation. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of this agreement.

IsThisOriginal estimates how distinctive the argument in a piece of writing appears, by comparing it with material reachable through ordinary public search and with what standard prompts produce from general-purpose language models. It returns scores, the evidence behind them, and editorial questions intended to develop the thinking. It does not rewrite your draft.

This is the most important section of these terms. A report does not establish:

• That an idea has never existed. Absence of a match means the searches and samples in that run did not surface a precedent. Books, paywalled essays, podcasts, videos, private newsletters and non-English writing are outside every run.
• That a human or an AI wrote the text. The service makes no authorship or attribution claim of any kind and is not an AI-writing detector.
• That anyone copied anything. It is not a plagiarism check. It compares arguments, not word sequences, and a report is evidence neither of copying nor of its absence.
• That an uncommon claim is a good one. Idea Originality and Idea Quality are scored independently, and rarity is not truth, correctness or value.

A score is an estimate from evidence gathered at a point in time. The same draft analyzed later may score differently as the public record and the models change. The methodology sets out what is measured and where the numbers stop being reliable.

Access is currently offered by invitation. You must be at least 16 to use the service. Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account. We may decline, suspend or withdraw access, and we will tell you when we do unless we are prevented from doing so.

You keep every right in what you submit. You grant us only the limited licence needed to host, process and display your content in order to run the analysis you asked for and show you the result — including sending it to the processors listed in the Privacy Policy. That licence ends when you delete the content.

We do not publish your drafts and we do not use them to train models. You are responsible for having the right to submit what you submit, and you must not submit anyone else’s writing as your own or writing you are not permitted to share.

If an analysis clears both published thresholds you may choose to list it on Best of the Best. Listing is entirely optional and never automatic. By listing, you confirm the piece is published at the URL you give and that you may link to it, and you grant us permission to display the analysis title, its scores and that link until you remove it. Your draft text is never reproduced there. You can hide or delete a listing at any time, and we may remove a listing that is broken, misleading or in breach of these terms.

You must not:

• present a report as evidence that someone plagiarised, that an AI wrote something, or that an idea is unprecedented — none of which a report supports;
• use the service to harass, defame or make accusations about a person;
• submit writing you have no right to submit, or personal information about other people that they have not agreed to have analyzed;
• attempt to overwhelm the service or its providers, evade rate limits, scrape it, or reach analyses that are not yours;
• reverse engineer the scoring in order to produce text tuned to it.

The service does not currently charge for access, and no payment details are collected. We intend to introduce paid plans processed by Stripe. If we do, the price, billing period, renewal and cancellation terms will be shown before you subscribe, nothing you already have will start costing money without notice, and these terms and the Privacy Policy will be updated and re-dated first.

The service is under active development and is offered as it is, without a guarantee of availability, of uninterrupted operation, or of any particular result. It depends on third-party search and model providers whose coverage, pricing and behaviour change over time, and on scoring that we revise — a re-score under a newer scoring version can change numbers you have already seen. We may change or withdraw features. Where a deployment is running on example evidence rather than live research, the site says so on every page.

To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that reports are accurate, complete or suitable for any decision you make with them.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, reputation or goodwill, arising out of your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusions above, so they may not apply to you.

You agree to cover claims brought against us that arise from writing you submitted without the right to submit it, from your breach of these terms, or from the way you presented a report to someone else.

You may stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your account from your account page. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, or if we discontinue the service. Sections 3, 5, 10, 11 and 12 continue to apply afterwards.

When these terms change materially we publish a new version string and effective date, and your acceptance is recorded against the version in force at the time. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised terms. The current version is 2026-07-31.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in the State of Delaware, United States have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them, and you and we each consent to that jurisdiction and venue.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live.
